It all started when…
Honestly looking back I never thought I would be making wedding videos. I respected them as a service but it wasn’t until my friend got married and she asked me if I could lend my filmmaking talents to help her I of course jumped at the chance. My background has purely been corporate based filmmaking with my second company ‘Higgybank Productions’ but since that start I got from my friends wedding I dont think Ive ever looked back.
It really does feel like Ive found my true calling with wedding videos mainly just due to the pure enjoyment of the whole process. Don’t get me wrong, Ive had enjoyment working on other corporate film projects as well but that usually stems from attempting to turn something boring into a great video that I can be proud of. It usually took time for me to really start to enjoy it but with wedding videos there really is never a dull moment.
Often I get asked by friends and family whether I get bored of going to the same weddings over and over again especially since I am at that stage of my life when all my close friends are getting married as well. The honest answer is no, never. Every wedding is different and it could be due to a lot of different things. Namely the venue (Ive seen some amazing venues in this country thanks to this job!), or the speeches that tug at the heart strings or leave you in pits of laughter like in ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’. More often than not its you guys, the happy couples. Seeing your happiness and enjoyment makes my job that much more fun. The mixture of emotions I get from couples before and after are truly amazing. Whichever is the more anxious and nervous one turns out to be as cool as a cucumber on the day and vice versa.
Before I begin to waffle on even more and tell you that inappropriate joke I made when I was five I should probably leave it there. Its hard for anyone to truly talk about themselves via text but the best way to get to know me is in person. I can’t wait to be given the opportunity to film your wedding for you and to create a video that you and your family can cherish for many years to come.
